Community Outreach

Ongoing

Engage with community members, conduct awareness campaigns, and organize educational workshops on disaster preparedness.

4-6 hours per week Kawempe Division
  • Community door-to-door awareness visits
  • Organizing local disaster preparedness workshops
  • Distributing educational materials
  • Collecting community feedback and needs assessment

Emergency Response Team

On-call

Be part of our rapid response team that mobilizes during disaster events to provide immediate assistance to affected communities.

As needed during emergencies Bwaise and surrounding areas
  • Emergency assessment and reporting
  • Evacuation assistance
  • Relief distribution coordination
  • First aid and basic medical support

Environmental Protection

Weekly

Lead and participate in environmental conservation activities including drainage cleaning, waste management, and wetland protection.

3-4 hours per week Various locations in Kawempe
  • Community clean-up campaigns
  • Drainage maintenance and clearing
  • Environmental awareness education
  • Tree planting and greening initiatives

Training & Education

Monthly

Facilitate training workshops on disaster preparedness, first aid, climate adaptation, and community resilience building.

6-8 hours per month Community centers & schools
  • Conducting disaster preparedness training
  • Developing educational materials
  • Coordinating training logistics
  • Evaluating training effectiveness

Who Can Volunteer?

Basic Requirements

  • Age 18+ (16-17 with parental consent)
  • Resident of or familiar with Kawempe Division
  • Basic communication skills in Luganda and/or English
  • Commitment to community service
  • Ability to work in diverse teams
  • Reliability and punctuality
